We are seeking a skilled Middleware Administrator to join our team and manage the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of middleware software systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and high availability of middleware infrastructure, providing technical expertise, and resolving any issues that arise. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to support and optimize middleware solutions to meet the organization’s business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain middleware software, such as application servers, web servers, message queues, and integration platforms.
- Monitor middleware infrastructure performance, availability, and capacity to proactively identify and resolve any issues or bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with development teams to deploy and manage applications on middleware platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents and problems related to middleware systems, including performance issues, configuration errors, and connectivity problems.
- Implement and maintain security measures and access controls for middleware systems to ensure data integrity and protection.
- Perform regular system backups, upgrades, and patching to ensure the stability and security of middleware environments.
- Conduct performance tuning and optimization activities to improve the efficiency and scalability of middleware systems.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and network teams to ensure seamless integration and connectivity between middleware components and other systems.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including installation procedures, configuration guides, and troubleshooting documentation.
- Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in the middleware space and propose innovative solutions to enhance system performance and reliability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Middleware Administrator or similar role, managing middleware software systems in a production environment.
- Strong understanding of middleware concepts and technologies, such as application servers (e.g., Apache Tomcat, JBoss), web servers (e.g., Apache HTTP Server, NGINX), message queues (e.g., Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ), and integration platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, IBM Integration Bus).
- Proficiency in installing, configuring, and maintaining middleware software, including performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with security principles and best practices in the middleware space, such as SSL/TLS configuration, certificate management, and access control.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Shell scripting, Python) to automate administrative tasks and enhance operational efficiency.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools to proactively monitor middleware systems and identify potential issues (e.g., Nagios, Splunk, ELK stack).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex middleware-related issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Security and Access Control: Familiarity with security principles and best practices in the middleware space. This includes implementing SSL/TLS encryption, managing certificates, configuring access controls, and ensuring data integrity and protection within middleware environments.
